The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
For pets with shedding fur A robot vacuum/mop combination is among the top floor cleaning options. It can mop and vacuum and even clean and dry its own dual mop pads.
It also has the highest suction power of any robot we've tested, with 8,000Pa. It can also save your home's maps and schedule cleaning schedules using its app.
1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is the latest in Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuums and mops. This wet-dry model is equipped with the company's upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that provides improved mapping and obstacle avoidance. It uses dual-laser LiDAR -- similar to what you'll find in self-driving vehicles and is able to scan up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This translates to more accurate mapping, faster response time, and higher cleaning accuracy.
It also comes with a rotating mopping mat constructed of chenille, making it much easier to scrub hard-to-clean spots than conventional mops. During my tests, the X2 Omni washed its pad in just a few seconds and got to work. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models which seemed to follow a grid around rooms. It was capable of navigating my room's by the corners and edges as well as create a "Zambani pattern" across the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station regularly to empty the trash bin and clean the mop using hot water prior to starting another task of cleaning.
The X2 Omni is just as easy to use and set up as other Ecovacs products. Place the dock in its place then plug it in and connect it to your WiFi network at home. It only takes about a minute. Then, you can launch the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to modify my floor plan in about 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for mopping and sweeping as well as rearranging the positioning of furniture on the wall and more. The X2 Omni was astonished during my tests, with excellent scores for debris removal and pet hair cleaning, as well as near-perfect results in crevice and edge cleaning.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
If you're looking for a powerful combination of mopping and vacuuming then check out the EcoVACS Deebot T10 Omni. It is the most advanced of the T-line from the company and features the new OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system that utilizes a dual-spinning brush for superior cleaning than conventional scrubbers. It also has YIKO integrated, a first-of-its kind natural language processing technology that can respond to a wide range of voice commands. The ECOVACS App lets you map your house, create cleaning schedules and modify settings.
The main drawback of the T10 Omni is that it's unable to switch from mopping to vacuuming in one go. Both modes require that you attach and remove mop heads as needed, which is fine for most homes but not suitable for people who lead busy lives.
The Deebot T10 is a great robot vacuum that gives impressive results. It was able to remove more than 96% debris from our hardwood flooring. This is an excellent performance. It did a great job on tiles and carpets cleaning up 99percent of dirt.
This robot vacuum and mops has an extensive docking system that allows for automatic cleaning with cool water for the mop pads. It also has an auto-emptying 3L bag which is easy to replace and hot air drying for quick and easy maintenance. It also has a huge water tank that permits more frequent rinses and dry between mopping runs.
The Deebot T10 features a wash tray that is built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to rinse and dry the mop pads while it is using them. It does not have a removable tray so dirt, dust and other grime will slowly build up on the bottom.
3. RoboVac X8 hybrid
This is the first model of mopping from Anker, which is known for its robot vacuums. It has improved smarts, multiple map support and LIDAR scanning, along with twin-turbine suction technology that automatically adapts to the surface you're cleaning. It's a tempting mid-range vacuum cleaner however it doesn't exactly live up to its promise to be an all-in-one solution for floor cleaning.
The X8 Hybrid appears to be an ordinary robotic cleaner from the top. It has a circular shape with the sweeping wheels, as well as an elevated sensor area. Flip it over, however there's a motorised floor brush plus one side sweeper brush that pushes dirt from the edges into the main path of the robot's 'mouth'. It's a little smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system lets you set up no-mop areas and specific cleaning zones. It has a tendency of hitting things like its charging station, and isn't very good in climbing over carpets. It was great at picking up pet hair from carpets. In our tests it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of cat litter.
The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, however it also has physical buttons at its base. These buttons let you select a cleaning mode or turn off the robot. These buttons can be used to set up areas that aren't allowed to enter and view real-time maps. It's a bit chatty, too, and will tell you what it's going to do next ("start cleaning") or alert you that something's not right (it does not have enough power to charge, for example).
4. ILIFE A4s
This high-tech model can remove pet hair, kibble and other messes with remarkable efficiency. It also maneuvers perfectly around furniture legs. It has a feature set that is impressive, such as two cleaning modes and an automatic docking station and real-time obstacles avoidance technology. It's Wi-Fi enabled and best controlled through the Neato app, where cleanings can be scheduled and overall maintenance needs are monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for homes that have a carpet, hard carpet and flooring, however it requires some advance planning to avoid getting stuck by electrical cords, toys, or other obstacles that might be unexpected.
In our tests of hardwood floors and kibble the robot performed very well and was able to pick up everything from one grain of rice up to many pieces of dog food in just one go. It had some trouble transitioning to rugs, however, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms with both types of flooring and a mix of pets.
It is a bit pricey however, if you are able to handle the cost this is a great option for those who wish to leave their home completely free to perform other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro also offers a convenient auto cleaning mode that automatically increases suction power to deal with difficult spills and dirt, and it is equipped with an electric ElectroWall that lets you define boundaries where the robot isn't permitted to be allowed to enter.
This budget-friendly option from a well-known brand is the cheapest model we've tested to date and offers an outstanding value for price. best robot vacuum for pet hair and carpet is based on a very basic random pathing algorithm, and it's not able to map rooms. This makes it less efficient than the other models on this list. However it's still able reach under furniture and in corners, and its mopping mode was very effective during our tests it picked up pet hair and other debris with ease.
5. Shark iQ
Shark's iQ may not be as well-built however it is superior at cleaning pet hair from all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning low-pile carpet and floors that are not covered. It also utilizes the smart-pathing software for better maneuverability. It can be positioned to a particular area and includes a variety of advanced automation features, including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you to pause and resume a cleaning session which is ideal for homes with pets.
The self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent tangles with pet hair and other debris, and its self-emptying bagless dock station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt before it needs to be empty. It also has an assortment of side brushes that are angled to dig deep into corners, and its multi-stage filter system is able to capture dust, dander and allergens for cleaner air.
This robot vacuum feels solid and well-constructed, and it comes with an app for smartphones that lets you change the settings for your vacuum and plan cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app allows you to view the iQ's remaining battery life and receive notifications via push for any issues it encounters during its cleaning cycle. You can make use of your voice to control the device using an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device, and if you don't have either options, you can mark zones with physical boundary strips.
The iQ is good in cleaning floors with no dirt, and does a decent job on carpets with low pile and shaggy edges. However it's not able to provide the same level autonomy as our top choices. It is also expensive and the cost of recurring use can increase.
